Scam Phone Calls Claiming to be SVPD 
On January 19th, 2024, the Simi Valley Police Department was made aware of a Scam occurring in and around our city. In summary, a caller is spoofing Simi Valley Police Department phone number (805) 583-6946. The caller is stating to be an officer and is leaving a call back number of (831) 222-0933. This number leads to an AI generated voicemail box. The voicemail claims to be the Simi Valley Police Department Civil Division and requests the caller leave a name and number for a call back.
We want to make it clear that this is a deceptive operation. The Simi Valley Police Department does not have a Civil Division, and we do not solicit donations, payment for fines or warrants, or other legal matters over the phone.
As technology evolves, scams involving AI and similar methods are becoming more sophisticated and challenging to recognize. We urge the community to remain vigilant.
