On Friday, January 19, 2024, a felony hit and run suspect was identified and arrested by the Simi Valley Police Department Traffic Bureau.
Earlier this month, on January 4, 2024, at approximately 7:50 PM, the Simi Valley Police Department responded to a hit and run collision in the area of Los Angeles Ave. and Stearns St. The victim was walking her bicycle southbound across the 5100 block of Los Angeles Ave. when she was struck by a 4 door sedan traveling eastbound on Los Angeles Ave. The victim sustained major injuries and was transported to a local trauma center. Based on the impact and the victim’s injuries, the suspect vehicle that fled the scene possibly had significant damage to the front or right front side of the car.
In the subsequent weeks, the Simi Valley Police Department received several tips from the public. As the Traffic Investigators followed up with these investigative leads, they were able to identify the driver and the suspect vehicle. On Friday, January 19, 2024, Traffic Investigators, along with Detectives from the Simi Valley Police Department located the vehicle and the suspect in the 1100 block of Appleton Rd. The suspect was subsequently arrested and the vehicle recovered.
The suspect driver was identified as 46 year-old Amanda Streetly, a resident of Simi Valley. Ms. Streetly was booked at the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office Pre-Trial Detention Facility for felony hit and run.
