On January 20th,2024 at approximately 09:31 am, Officers were dispatched to a major crash at East Amarillo Boulevard and English Road. A Subaru Crosstrek was seen traveling eastbound on Amarillo Boulevard at a high-rate of speed. The vehicle left the roadway and struck a fence, a gas line, and a building on the south side of the road. The vehicle caught fire with the driver trapped inside the vehicle. The driver died at the scene. A teletype was sent to Phoenix Police to attempt to make contact with the victim’s family. JP Judge Jones was notified. This case is being investigated by the Amarillo PD Traffic Investigation Unit.
