Full Notification

Tonight, at approximately 1700 hours, a male subject entered into Planet Fitness, located at 2803 E. Cochran St, and went into the locker room/shower area.  The subject disrobed and armed himself with a knife.  The subject brandished the knife at a gym patron, who fled the locker room and called 9-1-1.  Police Officers arrived at the gym and located the subject in the shower area, still armed with the knife.   After a few moments, officers were able to take the subject into custody without incident.  No gym patrons, Planet Fitness employees or officers were injured during in this incident. 
 
The subject was identified as 31 year-old Simi Valley resident Jhovan Rojo.  Rojo was arrested for 417PC and was confirmed as a suspect in an unrelated 242PC (Battery) case.  Rojo was booked at the Ventura County Main Jail for 417 PC and 242 PC.
