* WHAT...Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations of a dusting up to one inch and ice accumulations around one tenth of an inch.
* WHERE...Portions of northeast Illinois.
* WHEN...From 9 AM Monday to 6 AM CST Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the evening commute.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The first round of precipitation will begin as a light snow and sleet mix shortly after daybreak Monday morning, then will transition to a period of freezing drizzle in the afternoon. A second more impactful period of precipitation is expected Monday night. This will fall mainly in the form of freezing rain. While air temperatures will be warming to near freezing during the period of rainfall late Monday night, subfreezing ground temperatures will continue to make for icy and very slick streets and sidewalks into early Tuesday morning.
