Detective Grant Robinson with the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged 46-year-old James William Effler with felonious Breaking or Entering, 2 counts of felonious Larceny and felonious Larceny of a Motor Vehicle. Effler is being held under no bond.
An investigation began on November 5th when detectives responded to an Old Fort business for a prior breaking or entering. On November 18th, detectives responded to Effler’s residence for a possible located stolen truck. While there, they observed a four-wheeler and a trailer that had also been reported stolen. Evidence in both investigations led to warrants being obtained for Effler and to the recovery of the stolen property. He was located and apprehended by deputies on January 5th.
