SUBJECT: Suspect arrested for assault with a deadly weapon
DATE/TIME: January 22nd, 2024 around 7:31 PM
LOCATION: 1300 block of Middlefield Road, Redwood City

On January 22nd, 2024 around 7:31 PM officers were dispatched to 1300 Middlefield Road on the report of a subject threatening an employee of Street Life Ministries Church with a knife. The reporting party who witnessed the incident followed the suspect, identified as Redwood City resident Jorge Orozco (29 years of age) until officers were able to locate him in the area of Spruce/Chew. Once contacted, Orozco was detained without incident and a box cutter was located on his person. He was positively identified by the victim as well as two witnesses. No one was injured during the assault.
Orozco was booked into the San Mateo County Jail for Felony Assault With A Deadly Weapon.
