Woman Finds Transient in Her Vehicle and is Attacked When She Yells at Him to Leave

INCIDENT: P.C. 211- Robbery, P.C. 422(A)- Criminal Threats
LOCATION: A Street/ Seventh Street, Victorville
SUSPECT(S): Dwight Brown, 26-year-old Transient of Victorville
SUMMARY: On Saturday, January 20, 2024, at approximately 3:44 p.m., deputies responded to the area of A Street and Seventh Street for a man with a gun attempting to steal a car.
The victim was shopping at the Guadalajara Meat Market when she heard dogs barking. The victim went outside and saw a male in the driver seat of her vehicle. When the victim yelled at the suspect, identified as Dwight Brown, to get out of her vehicle, he opened the vehicle door and proceeded to attack the victim, striking her several times.
The victim was able to get help, and Brown fled the scene. Brown was later located in a nearby area and pointed out to assisting deputies. Brown was uncooperative with deputies, but was ultimately taken into custody. He was booked at the High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto, for P.C. 211- Robbery, P.C. and 422(A)- Criminal Threats. He is currently being held at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga.
