INCIDENT: Fatal Traffic Collision
LOCATION: Wildwood Canyon Road / California Street, Yucaipa CA
SUSPECT(S): N/A
VICTIM(S): 64-year-old male resident of San Bernardino
SUMMARY: On Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at approximately 5:08 p.m., deputies from the Yucaipa Police Department along with rescue personnel from Yucaipa Fire Department and American Medical Response responded to a two-vehicle traffic collision near the intersection of Wildwood Canyon Road and California Street, in Yucaipa.
Upon arrival, deputies determined a grey 2016 Ford Escape traveled east on Wildwood Canyon Road approaching Penny Lane. A black 2019 Honda CBR 600 RR motorcycle traveled west on Wildwood Canyon Road. The Ford Escape turned left into a private driveway when the Honda collided with the passenger side. The rider of the motorcycle was pronoucned deceased on scene.
Deputies with the Yucaipa Police Department Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T) responded and assumed the investigation.
The west bound and east bound lanes of Wildwood Canyon Road remained closed for several hours while deputies conducted their investigation.
