The City of Amsterdam Police Department has developed reasonable suspicion of an ongoing scheme to defraud occurring out of the Amsterdam Overhead Door Company most recently located at 403 W Main Street in the City of Amsterdam. In late December 2023 a complaint was filed with Amsterdam Police where the complainant stated they had provided a deposit to Amsterdam Overhead Door in the preceding months, but were yet to receive any materials nor was any on site work performed. Since that time the Amsterdam Police Department has received two additional complaints citing the same sequence of events.
Initial investigative efforts have revealed that Amsterdam Overhead Door Company has gone out of business. As part of the investigative effort the Amsterdam Police Department is putting out this notice to any person(s) who have experienced the same monetary loss to come forward as this ongoing course of conduct by the business owner is being investigated at this time for criminality.
