Union City, CA – UCPD Case #240124008 - On January 24, 2024 at approximately 1334 hours, UCPD officers responded to the 33000 block of Dowe Avenue for a report of an officer who was shot.  Alameda County Sheriff’s Office deputies were serving an eviction in the area when the suspect opened fire and struck one of the deputies.  The deputy was transported to a local trauma center for critical, but non-life threatening injuries.
Local agencies responded to the area to assist with the incident.  As of the writing of this press release, the crime scene is still active and we advise the community to avoid the area. 
The suspect is believed to still be in the area and considered armed and dangerous.
