Flash Flood Warning until 09:45PM Wednesday

FFWLIX The National Weather Service in New Orleans has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for... West Central St. Tammany Parish in southeastern Louisiana...

* Until 945 PM CST.

* At 836 PM CST, Residual flooded roadways remain possible in spots from earlier significant flash flooding. Between 4.5 and 6.5 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain. SOURCE...Emergency management reported. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Covington, Abita Springs, Madisonville and Lacombe. This includes the follwing Interstate... Interstate 12 between mile markers 58 and 71.

* AFFECTED AREAS: ST. TAMMANY, LA

Instructions:

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
