Columbia Water Boil Water Advisory
 
To Columbia Water Customers located at Blossom St., Capitol Pl., Amherst Ave., Chatham Ave., Wheat St., and Ott Rd.
Columbia Water laboratory staff advises the water customers of Blossom St., Capitol Pl., Amherst Ave., Chatham Ave., and Ott Rd., located in Richland County, to vigorously boil their water for at least one (1) full minute prior to drinking or cooking.  Also, any residents near the affected area who may have experienced a loss of water and/or pressure, or may be experiencing discolored water, are advised to vigorously boil their water for at least one (1) full minute prior to drinking or cooking.
Columbia Water has experienced a planned shutdown of 6 inch water main repair.  This could possibly result in bacterial contamination of the water on Blossom St., Capitol Pl., Amherst Ave., Chatham Ave., Wheat St. and Ott Rd. Water customers should continue to boil their water vigorously for at least one (1) full minute prior to drinking or cooking until otherwise notified by Columbia Water laboratory staff.  In addition, any ice made from water that has not been boiled should not be used for drinking purposes.
Columbia Water staff is presently working to correct the problem.
