Wilmington Police have arrested a man on gun and drug charges.
On January 23, at approximately 10:06 a.m., police responded to the 900 block of West 2nd Street, in reference to a person with a gun. Upon arrival, officers made contact with 28-year-old Dawan Bell Jr., who was taken into custody without incident and found to be in possession of a loaded .40 caliber handgun, and 29 grams of crack cocaine.
Bell has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
- Possession of a Stolen Firearm
- Possession of a Controlled Substance in Tier 3 Quantity
He was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $33,000 cash-only bail.
