Crime Alert Bulletin Covering the Weeks of January 8-21, 2024
When I mention “the unit block” of a street, this means the incident occurred at an address anywhere between 1 and 99 of the street.
Robberies
There were five robberies during the past two weeks.
On Wednesday, 01-10-24, at approximately 4:53 a.m., officers were dispatched to 7-Eleven on Hillside Boulevard on a report of two suspects taking money with a gun. The store clerk stated that a male and female suspect entered the store. The male suspect brandished a gun and took $500 and 50 to 60 packs of cigarettes worth approximately $550. The female suspect took a few bags of candy. Both suspects fled on foot westbound on East Market Street. The store clerk described one of the suspects as a Black male, approximately 25 to 30 years old, 5’5” tall, 155 pounds, and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, and a black ski mask. The other suspect was described as a Black female, approximately 25 to 30 years old, 5’2” tall, 155 pounds, and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, and a black ski mask. This investigation is continuing.
On Saturday, 01-13-24, at approximately 8:15 p.m., officers were dispatched to the unit block of Second Avenue on a report of a robbery that occurred on the 100 block of First Avenue. The victim stated that one suspect brandished a gun, and a second suspect brandished a knife and took his $1,200 iPhone and $500. The suspects ran to a black vehicle and fled southbound on First Avenue toward East Market Street. The victim described the suspect with the gun as a slender Hispanic male with medium complexion, approximately 20 years old, 5’5” tall, 140 pounds, and wearing a black hat, black clothing, and ski mask. The suspect with the knife was described as a slender Hispanic male with medium complexion, approximately 20 years old, 5’5” tall, 140 pounds, and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black clothing. This investigation is continuing.
On Monday, 01-15-24, at approximately 5:17 p.m., officers were dispatched to Nordstrom Rack on a report of a robbery. A store greeter said four suspects entered the store, split up, took merchandise, left the store, and fled in a white Ford Explorer. One of the suspects, on the way out of the store, pushed the greeter to the ground, causing injury. The suspect who pushed the greeter was described as a heavyset Black female, approximately 30 years old. The second suspect was described as a heavyset Black female in her late 20s to 30s, wearing green pants and a gray shirt. The third suspect was described as a Black female with a white plastic bag, wearing a white tee shirt with a yellow and brown image on the front and gray sweats with a “B” on the right thigh. The fourth suspect was described as a Black female carrying a brown purse and wearing a blue denim jacket, blue denim jeans, a white shirt, and black boots. A loss prevention agent said the first suspect took two Armani fragrance sets valued at approximately $260, the second suspect took a beige Valentino handbag valued at approximately $500, and the third suspect took a white Valentino handbag valued at approximately $300. This investigation is continuing.
On Thursday, 01-18-24, at approximately 9:15 p.m., officers were dispatched to Mission Street and Alp Avenue on a report of a robbery that occurred at the bus stop on the 6600 block of Mission Street. The victim said while he was sitting at the bus stop, three suspects walked into the covered seating area of the bus stop. One of the suspects reached for the victim’s bags. The victim held onto his bags, but the suspect was able to pull the bags away from the victim’s hands and ran away. The victim chased the suspect and stopped chasing after the second and third suspects ran past him. The victim said his bags contained $1,000 of miscellaneous property, $50 worth of groceries, and a $20 Milwaukee knife. Later, an officer found the bags with the miscellaneous property, but without the groceries or the knife, on the unit block of Eastlake Avenue. The victim described the suspects as Hispanic males, approximately 17 to 19 years old, and wearing black clothing. This investigation is continuing.
On Saturday, 01-20-24, at approximately 12:09 a.m., officers were dispatched to the unit block of Cypress Court on a report of a robbery. Two victims who were in an unlocked car were robbed of their belongings by multiple suspects. One of the victims was hit in the face with a gun and suffered injuries. The victim who was hit with the gun had his Jordan shoes, iPhone 15, and jewelry taken, all worth approximately $2,150. The second victim had her jewelry, purse, and wallet taken. This victim only knew that the pair of earrings that were taken was worth approximately $200 and did not know the value of her other items. Two suspects, 18-year-old Daly City residents, were arrested and booked into jail for robbery and conspiracy. A third suspect, a 15-year-old San Francisco resident, was arrested and booked into the Youth Services Center for robbery and conspiracy.
Residential Burglaries
There was one residential burglary and two attempted residential burglaries during the past two weeks.
On Saturday, 01-20-24, at approximately 8:02 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the unit block of Poncetta Drive on a report of a residential burglary that occurred between 10:00 p.m. on 01-19-24 and 1:00 a.m. on 01-20-24 while the residents were sleeping. The residents stated the suspect entered through an open window and took a laptop, two bags containing documents, a passport, a wallet, $700, and clothes, and a purse containing $300 and a Medi-Cal card. One of the residents stated the suspect made two charges on her credit card.
On Saturday, 01-13-24, at approximately 10:58 p.m., officers were dispatched to the unit block of Poncetta Drive on a report of a disturbance. A known suspect attempted to enter a residence by kicking the door. The suspect, a 47-year-old San Francisco resident, was arrested and booked into jail for attempted burglary.
On Thursday, 01-18-24, at approximately 3:42 a.m., officers were dispatched to the unit block of Cypress Lane on a report of a possible residential burglary. Suspects may have entered the property from the backyard by damaging a fence. A resident was awakened by an alarm and found the sliding door opened. The resident then heard what sounded like people leaving the property. Nothing appeared to have been taken. This investigation is continuing.
Commercial Burglaries
There was one commercial burglary during the past two weeks.
On Saturday, 01-13-24, between 4:45 p.m. and 5:15 p.m., suspect(s) entered Planet Fitness on Junipero Serra Boulevard and broke into a locker. The suspect(s) stole keys, an Apple AirTag, a jacket, glasses, a wallet, $300, three credit cards, and one debit card.
Vehicle Burglaries
There were nine vehicle burglaries during the past two weeks.
- Unit block of Ridgefield Avenue—a bag with dog treats was taken from a 2021 Jeep Renegade. The driver’s side rear quarter panel window was broken. Occurred on 01-08-24 between 2:00 p.m. and 3:25 p.m. **Online report.
- Parking lot of Original Joe’s on the unit block of Glenwood Avenue—a backpack containing a wallet, Apple AirTag, Chromebook, Sony headphones, and miscellaneous school supplies and another backpack containing a Chromebook, Nintendo Switch headphones, and a leather scroll bag were taken from a 2019 Ram Bighorn. The driver’s side rear window was shattered. Occurred on 01-09-24 between 6:30 p.m. and 9:20 p.m.
- 600 block of Clarinada Avenue—DeWalt and Metabo power tools, batteries, and chargers were taken from a 2018 Ford F-150. The driver’s side and passenger side rear windows were smashed. Occurred between 6:00 p.m. on 01-11-24 and 7:10 a.m. on 01-12-24.
- 500 block of Clarinada Avenue—DeWalt and Makita power tools, batteries, circular saws, drills, and hole and punch guns were taken from a 2015 Ford F-150. The driver’s side and passenger side rear windows were smashed. Occurred between 7:00 p.m. on 01-11-24 and 6:30 a.m. on 01-12-24.
- PG&E on the 400 block of Eastmoor Avenue—miscellaneous tools were taken from a 2016 Peterbilt truck. The driver’s side panels were found open. Occurred between 3:00 p.m. on 01-15-24 and 6:30 a.m. on 01-16-24.
- PG&E on the 400 block of Eastmoor Avenue— miscellaneous tools and equipment were taken from a 2013 Peterbilt truck. The roll-up compartments on both sides of the truck were found open. Occurred on 01-16-24 between midnight and 6:30 a.m.
- PG&E on the 400 block of Eastmoor Avenue— miscellaneous tools and equipment were taken from a 2014 Peterbilt truck. Cargo doors were found open, and locks to roll-up doors were tampered with. Occurred on 01-16-24 between midnight and 6:30 a.m.
- PG&E on the 400 block of Eastmoor Avenue—equipment was taken from a 2015 Peterbilt truck. The equipment was attached to the front of the truck and is now missing. Occurred on 01-16-24 between midnight and 6:30 a.m.
- Unit block of Poncetta Drive—Social Security card, expired Green card, and medical paperwork were taken from a 2016 Hyundai. Unknown method of entry. Occurred on 01-16-24 between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m.
Stolen Vehicles
There were eighteen stolen vehicles during the past two weeks. Eleven vehicles were recovered.
- Unit block of Ward Court—a 2011 Nissan Altima. Occurred on 01-08-24 between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. **Recovered by SFPD on 01-09-24.
- Hoffman Street and Sylvan Street—a 2011 Kia Optima. Occurred between 4:30 p.m. on 01-10-24 and 6:30 a.m. on 01-11-24. **Recovered by SFPD on 01-11-24.
- Unit block of East Cavour—a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado. Occurred between 7:45 p.m. on 01-11-24 and 5:30 a.m. on 01-12-24. **Recovered by SFPD on 01-12-24.
- 800 block of Bellevue Avenue—a 2010 Infiniti G37. Occurred on 01-12-24 at approximately 3:28 a.m.
- 300 block of Gellert Boulevard—a 1999 Acura Integra. Occurred on 01-12-24 between 12:00 p.m. and 3:17 p.m. **Recovered by Albany PD on 01-13-24.
- 200 block of Theirs Street—a 2019 Kia Forte. Occurred between 5:30 p.m. on 01-12-24 and 4:30 a.m. on 01-13-24. **Recovered by SFPD on 01-13-24.
- 200 block of Acton Street—a 2009 Infiniti G37. Occurred between 10:30 p.m. on 01-12-24 and 8:30 a.m. on 01-13-24.
- 3300 block of San Jose Avenue—a 2014 Kia Soul. Occurred on 01-13-24 at approximately 3:02 a.m. **Recovered by DCPD on 01-14-24.
- Unit block of West Cavour Street—a 2000 Toyota Tacoma. Occurred between 6:30 p.m. on 01-13-24 and 8:00 a.m. on 01-14-24. **Recovered by SFPD on 01-18-24.
- 1200 block of Brunswick Street—a 2010 Infiniti G37. Occurred on 01-14-24 at approximately 1:30 a.m. **Recovered by Oakland PD on 01-18-24.
- 800 block of Hillside Boulevard—a 2019 Chevrolet Camaro. Occurred on 01-15-24 between 9:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. **Recovered by San Leandro PD on 01-17-24.
- 400 block of Eastmoor Avenue—a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD. Occurred between 11:45 p.m. on 01-15-24 and 9:49 p.m. on 01-16-24.
- Unit block of Poncetta Drive—a 2011 Toyota Prius. Occurred on 01-16-24 at approximately 6:07 p.m. **Recovered by DCPD on 01-16-24.
- 500 block of Schwerin Street—a 2018 Chevrolet Camaro. Occurred between 7:00 p.m. on 01-16-24 and 7:00 a.m. on 01-17-24.
- Wellington Avenue and Irvington Street—a 2004 Nissan Murano. Occurred on 01-19-24 between 4:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. **Recovered by CHP-Contra Costa on 01-19-24.
- East Moltke Street and Hillside Boulevard—a 2008 Infiniti G37. Occurred between 6:30 p.m. on 01-20-24 and 8:35 a.m. on 01-21-24.
- Callan Boulevard and Hickey Boulevard—a 2016 Shipshe SSW Extreme trailer. Occurred between 6:40 p.m. on 01-20-24 and 6:15 a.m. on 01-22-24.
- Unit block of Edgemont Drive—a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado. Occurred between 4:00 p.m. on 01-21-24 and 6:00 a.m. on 01-22-24.
Miscellaneous (Two Weeks)
- There were 269 cases taken.
- There were 17 domestic disturbance cases reported.
- There were 11 cases involving an involuntary psychiatric hold.
- There were 15 malicious mischief/vandalism cases reported.
- There were 4 cases for public intoxication.
- There were 4 hit-and-run collisions reported.
- There were 17 narcotics-related cases taken.

Lunar New Year Celebration
The City of Daly City is having its first Lunar New Year Celebration on Saturday, February 10, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at City Hall, 333 90th Street.
