Country Club Advisory continues tonight. One of two sewer pumps now working. Crews onsite all night to continue repairs
City crews continue to work around the clock to repair the Parker Pump Station. Needed parts were obtained and one of the two sewer pumps is operational. The crews continue to troubleshoot the issues on the second pump. Both pumps are necessary for the full operation of the sewer system.
Once both pumps are operational, they must run for approximately 12 hours to reduce the volume of wastewater in the pipes and ensure the system will operate correctly. Once the City has passed this milestone, we will be able to lift the reduced drain use advisory. Until further notice, the impacted Country Club Area is advised to continue with limited water use for flushing and handwashing. Free showers will remain available at the Community Center, 1845 Strand Way, from 7 am to 7 pm.
The City recognizes the tremendous inconvenience and uncertainty of the present conditions. Repairing the system is our top priority and staff are working 24 hours a day to get the pumps up and running. We know this is extremely difficult and thank you for your patience.
The City is tracking a storm system that could land late next week, and we have preparations underway. This include back-up stormwater and sewer pumps and we are increasing the number of free sandbags available to residents. The City will share more information with the community about resources tomorrow.
Impacted area: homes in the Country Club area, west of Alameda Blvd to Naval Base, north of 10th St/Alder St and south of 6th Street. https://www.coronado.ca.us/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=528
