Advisory

Special Weather Statement until 03:00AM Saturday

A line of convective cells are producing sleet and snow showers across western Elko, northern Lander, and northern Eureka counties. These cells are moving SE at 25 MPH and will approach the I-80 corridor by midnight. Areas from Carlin, Elko/Spring Creek, north to Ryndon will see periods heavy sleet/snow mix through 2 AM PST, that may drop visibilities to below one mile, and create locally slick driving conditions. Motorists should use extreme caution if approaching these showers, as road conditions will rapidly become hazardous, along with decreased visibility and erratic crosswinds. Visit www.weather.gov/elko for the latest weather information.

* AFFECTED AREAS: NORTHERN ELKO COUNTY ... RUBY MOUNTAINS AND EAST HUMBOLDT RANGE ... NORTHERN LANDER COUNTY AND NORTHERN EUREKA COUNTY ... SOUTHWEST ELKO COUNTY
