Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé requests the public’s help with identifying the pictured suspect, who was captured on surveillance video before and after a robbery on Monday, January 22, 2024.
The incident occurred at approximately 12 p.m. when the victim was making a food delivery to the 70 block of Peabody Place. When he reached that location, the employee called the person he believed to be the customer. That individual, the suspect, was already outside across the street waving to the employee.
The delivery worker walked toward the suspect, who was with two other males. The third suspect, armed with a weapon, demanded that the victim give up his cell phone. All three suspects, described as Black males with slim builds, rifled through the victim’s pockets and took $102.89.
Suspect #1 was wearing a black ski mask and black pants. Suspect #2 was wearing a black ski mask, a grey-black fleece jacket, and black pants. Suspect #3 was wearing a dark blue and black jacket and black pants.
