INCIDENT: MAJOR INJURY TRAFFIC COLLISION
LOCATION: Jonathan Street/ Seneca Road, Adelanto
DRIVER: Edward Diaz, 26 years-old, resident of Huntington Park
SUMMARY: On Saturday, January 27, 2024, deputies responded to a 911 on Jonathan Street, near Seneca Road, in Adelanto.
Deputies arrived and located a single vehicle collision. Through the investigation, deputies learned the driver, Edward Diaz, was travelling north on Jonathan Street when he collided with an elevated dirt shoulder on the northeast corner of Jonathan Street and Seneca Road. Diaz lost control of the vehicle, causing it to roll over multiple times.
Edward Diaz was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. A rear passenger was ejected from the vehicle and transported to a local hospital with major injuries. A second passenger in the vehicle received minor injuries but refused treatment. The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
