13 Arrested at a Chino Hills DUI Checkpoint

Chino Hills, California: On January 27, 2024, a DUI checkpoint was held at Chino Hills Parkway and Pipeline Avenue from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. Deputies contacted drivers in 1,067 vehicles. A total of 20 drivers were issued citations for various vehicle code violations and an additional 13 drivers were arrested. The criminal charges included:

• 2 DUI arrests
• 7 unlicensed or suspended/revoked license arrests
• 2 warrant arrests
• 1 stolen vehicle arrest
• 1 false tab arrest

DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints is to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off public roadways.

Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
