Incident Update: Juvenile Suspect Arrested for Threats Made on Social Media
Today (1/31/2024), in the early morning hours, the Fremont Police Department became aware that a juvenile student of the Fremont Unified School District made threats on social media to commit an act of violence against others on school grounds. Based on the threats, it was believed the juvenile had access to a firearm. Fremont Police Department’s Investigation unit responded and identified the juvenile. The School District was notified, and the Fremont Police Department’s Investigation unit worked closely with the School Resources Officers to ensure the safety of the students at various campuses. The juvenile suspect was apprehended before school hours away from the Fremont Unified campuses, and a search resulted in the location of a replica gun with an extended magazine. The case is being reviewed by the juvenile district attorney.
