Rancho Cucamonga Woman Pronounced Deceased After Traffic Collison Occurs on 6th Street and Hermosa Avenue

INCIDENT: Fatal Traffic Collision

LOCATION: 6th Street / Hermosa Avenue 

INVOLVED PARTY:     Estevan Amador 37-year-old male resident from Rancho Cucamonga
INVOLVED PARTY: Adult female, 34-year-old resident of Rancho Cucamonga (Deceased)

INVOLVED PARTY:     Melissa Nguyen 57-year-old female resident  of Rancho Cucamonga



SUMMARY:
On January 31, 2024, at about 5:25 PM, deputies from the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department responded to a traffic collision involving two vehicles at the intersection of Hermosa Avenue and 6th Street. 

A black Nissan Rogue driven by Estevan Amador was traveling south on Hermosa Avenue attempting to make a left turn onto 6th Street. A black Mercedes CLS 550 driven by Melissa Nguyen was traveling north on Hermosa Avenue approaching the intersection of 6th Street. Both vehicles collided in the intersection. The force of the collision caused the Nissan Rogue to collide into the traffic control signal pole on the northeast corner of the intersection. 

Despite life-saving efforts by the Rancho Cucamonga Fire Department, the female passenger inside the Nissan Rogue was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The drivers of both vehicles and one passenger from the Nissan Rogue was transported by American Medical Response to Pomona Valley Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Deputies Magdaleno and Villalobos from the Rancho Cucamonga Major Accident Investigation Team responded and assumed the investigation. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
