FLOCK SAFETY CAMERAS HELP POLICE APPREHEND TWO FELONY SUSPECTS!
On the afternoon of February 1, 2024, the Simi Valley Communications Bureau successfully assisted in the interception of a stolen vehicle thanks to the Flock Safety camera system. At approximately 2:48 pm, the bureau received an automated notification indicating that a stolen vehicle had passed a Flock Safety camera in the east end of Simi Valley.
Quickly responding to the notification, the Communications Bureau promptly disseminated the information to all patrol units. This prompted officers to mobilize quickly and launch a thorough search of the vicinity to locate the stolen vehicle.
The stolen vehicle, identified through the Flock Safety system, was located in the parking lot of a 7-11 convenience store at Yosemite and Los Angeles. Officers on the scene, apprehended the two female occupants without incident.
The suspects were identified as Ashley Banali, 26 years old from Woodland Hills, California, and Stacey Martin, 30 years old from Hemet, California.
Banali was arrested for Grand Theft Auto and Identity Theft, while Martin faces charges of identity theft and had outstanding warrants against her.
Both suspects were transported to the Ventura County Main Jail, where they were booked on the listed charges.
