Weather Advisory in effect for the City of Commerce area thru Tuesday at 4:00 PM.
National Weather Service has issued a Weather Watch for Southern California until Tuesday at 4:00 PM. A weather watch indicates the potential for severe or damaging weather conditions.
With the heavy rains we are receiving today through Tuesday, we would like to share some information and tips to stay safe.
Updates (National Weather Service):
Very Heavy rain (4-8in) expected for Los Angeles County from 6:00pm today until 6:00am tomorrow morning.
Flood Watch through Tuesday 4:00pm
Potential wind gusts up to 30-50 MPH until 1:00am
10-20% chance of thunderstorms through Tuesday morning
Potential freeway and street flooding
TIPS & SAFETY RECOMMENDATIONS
Minimize travel, work from home if possible, & stay indoors
If possible, stay home Monday
Do not attempt to drive, walk, or swim through flooded streets or underpasses
Be sure to have flashlights with batteries
Secure loose items to prevent flying debris
Stay away from large trees that may blow over
Plan alternative routes if you leave your house
Call 9-1-1 if you see a downed power line (stay away), if you are trapped, or if a tree falls on a structure.
Remember stay safe! Limit travel and keep loved ones safe.
