Advisory

Stony Point Road Closed, Leisure Lake still Accessible

Incident:                Stony Point Road Closed
Occurred Date :     February 4, 2024
Location:                Stony Point Road north of Rainsville Road

Incident Summary:

The City of Petaluma is working to address weather related disturbances including a number of down power lines and localized flooding.  Currently, Stony Point Road north of Rainsville Road is closed in both directions due to flooding. Stony Point Road south of Rainsville is still accessible for the residents of Leisure Lake Village Mobile Park.

City officials continue to monitor the weather and local streams. Public works, fire and police personnel are prepared to respond to road closures, blocked storm drains and storm related debris falling on the streets and sidewalks if needed.  Please drive slowly if you see public safety personnel performing traffic control or clearing storm debris.

The Petaluma Police Department is advising all drivers to take extra precautions when traveling on the roadways. Drivers should not pass road closure or flooding signs.  If drivers encounter standing water on the roadway they are advised not to attempt to drive through the water as many times the standing water is much deeper than it appears.

Residents are encouraged to notify the Petaluma Police Department at 707-778-4372 to report flooded roadways or downed utility lines. More information can be found here on the City of Petaluma website https://cityofpetaluma.org/flood-alert-info.
