* WHAT...Heavy snow and strong winds will result in very dangerous avalanche conditions and HIGH (Level 4 of 5) avalanche danger by Wednesday
* WHERE...The San Juan Mountains including San Miguel Mountains, Rico Mountains, La Plata Mountains, and areas surrounding Silverton, Telluride, and Wolf Creek Pass including the South San Juan Wilderness
* WHEN...Beginning late Tuesday night and lasting through Thursday
* IMPACTS...Large and dangerous avalanches will be very easy to trigger in many places. Avalanches will run naturally.
* PRECAUTION/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...Travel in backcountry avalanche terrain is not recommended in the mentioned areas beginning Wednesday. Avoid travel on and under slopes steeper than about 30 degrees. You can find more detailed information at colorado.gov/avalanche
