On February 5, 2024, at approximately 4:30 p.m., Randy Flores Lopez, age 21, the suspect in this investigation, was arrested by the Reedley Police Department in Reedley, California. Flores was transported back to Kern County, where he was subsequently booked into the Lerdo Justice Facility on several assault and theft charges.

On February 5, 2024, at approximately 10:00 a.m., deputies from the Wasco and North Area Substations were dispatched to the 400 block of Peppermint Court in Wasco for a victim of a stabbing. The victim, a 52-year-old woman, was located and suffering from multiple life-threatening stab wounds and was rushed to a local hospital treatment. During the investigation, Randy Flores Lopez, 21, of Wasco was identified as the suspect.
Flores-Lopez also took the victim’s silver 2005 Chrysler Minivan with California License Plate 6LQE901. There is an active arrest warrant out for Flores-Lopez for Penal Code Sections 664/187- Attempted Murder, 245(a)(1)- Assault with a Deadly Weapon, 215 (a) Carjacking. An additional warrant for his arrest for a probation violation.
