On Feburary 5th, 2024 the Criminal Investigation Division with RCSO was contacted by Union County Sheriff's Office in North Carolina in reference to assisting them in locating a missing person from their jurisdiction. Union County Detectives advised that a missing person report had been completed on Feburary 2nd 2024 by their agency. After completing the report, information was gathered that the missing person's vehicle had been located and towed in the Green Hill area on January 13th, 2024. Once the report was made there was a delayed hit that showed the vehicle had been towed back in January.  Detectives with RCSO, went out to the area of 64/74A near Walking Horse Trail in the Greenhill Area. Detectives walked and searched the area due to the missing adult male's vehicle being located in January in that area. Detectives located James Harry Keller, 56 yoa, deceased and he was transported to Rutherford Regional for the medical examiner to deteremine cause of death. At this time it is expected to be a self inflicted cause of death and not foul play. The Rutherford County Sheriff's Office would like to thank the Green Hill Fire Department and Rutherford County EMS for their assistance. The Rutherford County Sheriff's Office would also like to send our prayers and condolences to the family of James Harry Keller.
