Armed Robbery Suspects Arrested
On 02-06-24 at 10:30 a.m., Janesville Police Department Officers responded to the 3800 block of Creekside Dr. for a report of an armed robbery. The victim reported that 2 males armed with handguns took personal property from her as she was walking her dog. The victim was not injured during the incident. The victim was able to obtain the license plate of the vehicle as it was leaving the area. The vehicle had been reported stolen on February 5th from the 1300 block of Laramie Ln. in Janesville.
At 1:37 p.m. officers located the vehicle near Wright Rd. / Stuart St. in the City of Janesville. A traffic stop was attempted and the vehicle failed to stop. A pursuit was initiated at E. Milwaukee St. / USH 14. Officers used a pursuit intervention technique, which stopped the vehicle on USH 14, just north of Ruger Ave. Officers were able to take both occupants of the vehicle into custody. No injuries occurred as a result of the pursuit.
Evidence linking the suspects to the robbery was located both in the vehicle and a residence connected to the suspects. Ishmail Gill was charged with operating a motor vehicle without owner’s consent, armed robbery and receiving stolen property. He is currently being held at the Rock County Jail pending his initial appearance. A 15 year old male was also charged with operating a motor vehicle without owner’s consent, armed robbery, 2nd degree recklessly endangering safety and fleeing an officer. He is being held at the Rock County Youth Services Center pending his initial appearance.
