Wilmington Police have arrested two men on gun charges.
Beginning in January, members of the Gun Intelligence Unit have been conducting an investigation into 22-year-old Keyon Jackson and 23-year-old Robert Chavis for illegal firearm possession. On January 30, at approximately 3:16 p.m., officers observed Jackson and Chavis in the 2800 block of Tatnall Street. Officers made contact with Jackson and Chavis, who were taken into custody without incident. Police recovered a loaded 9mm handgun.
Jackson has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited – Two Counts
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $20,000 cash-only bail.
Chavis has been charged with the following offenses:
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
- Giving a Firearm to a Person Prohibited
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $7,500 cash-only bail.
