Wilmington Police have arrested a woman on gun charges.
On February 1, at approximately 10:15 a.m., members of the Safe Streets Task Force were in the area of the 1500 block of West 4th Street, when they observed a motor vehicle commit a traffic violation. Officers conducted a motor vehicle stop at that location and made contact with the driver – 38-year-old Blanche Dunnum. Following a brief investigation, Dunnum was found to be in possession of a loaded 9mm handgun, 19 grams of marijuana, and was taken into custody without incident.
Dunnum has been charged with the following offenses in addition to traffic violations:
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
- Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
- Possession of Marijuana
She was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 20 and was released on $4,500 unsecured bail.
