Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested with Assistance from the Garden Grove Police Department
On February 3, 2024, at approximately 2:26 p.m., Gilroy police officers responded to a report of an attempted robbery at a local bank branch situated in the 7100 block of Camino Arroyo, Gilroy. The suspect, described as a White male adult in his 50s, wearing in a gray jacket, facemask, and glasses, handed a note to the teller indicating the robbery. The suspect fled the scene shortly thereafter, leaving the bank without any monetary loss.
Subsequent investigation by Gilroy P.D. detectives identified the suspect as Todd M. Haley (53) from Garden Grove, California. An arrest warrant for Haley was obtained from a Santa Clara County Superior Court Judge. Collaborating with partnering agencies, a statewide alert was issued, highlighting the active arrest warrant for Haley.
On the morning of February 6, 2024, Garden Grove P.D. responded to the alert, locating the suspect at his residence in Garden Grove, California. Assisting Gilroy P.D., Garden Grove officers executed a search warrant authored by Gilroy P.D. for Haley’s home and vehicles, leading to his apprehension in connection to the bank robbery investigation. Gilroy P.D. detectives traveled to Garden Grove, taking custody of Haley and transporting him to the Santa Clara County Jail for booking on bank robbery charges.
The Gilroy Police Department extends its appreciation to the Garden Grove Police Department for their assistance and partnership in apprehending this bank robber. Moreover, during the course of the investigation, Haley was found to be linked to another bank robbery in Salinas, and collaborative efforts are underway to aid in their investigation.
