The Jersey City Municipal Utility Authority (JCMUA) will resume a long-term water main replacement project along Marin Boulevard between 18th Street and Observer Highway on Monday, Feb. 12. This is expected to last approximately two weeks and will likely impact traffic heading into and out of southern Hoboken, especially during heavy commute times.
Marin Boulevard, which turns into Henderson Street in Hoboken, will be closed between 18th Street in Jersey City and Observer Highway in Hoboken weekdays between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. beginning on Monday, Feb. 12. 18th Street will also be closed westbound between Park Lane and Grove Street in Jersey City. The same closures will be implemented from 10 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 18, through 12 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 19. Construction will resume during regular hours at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 20.
Drivers are encouraged to use Grove Street or Jersey Avenue or northern routes into and out of Hoboken during work hours, and to leave extra time for travel in and around that area. Hoboken and Jersey City Police will be on site to assist with detours and other traffic impacts.
JCMUA advises that water customers may experience low water pressure during working hours.
