OPD Needs Help Locating Vehicle in Connection to Homicide

Today, the Oakland Police Department (OPD) Homicide Section released photos of a vehicle wanted in connection with a homicide that occurred on January 13, 2024, in the 9300 block of A Street. The vehicle, described as a black, 4-door, Lexus ES 350 (pictured above), appears to have distinctive damage on the front, driver side fender. OPD is looking to identify the vehicle and any individual(s) associated to this vehicle.

BACKGROUND:
The Oakland Police Department (OPD) is investigating a shooting that occurred on January 13, 2024, in the area of 94th Avenue & A Street, just before 3:00 PM. Officers responded to the area to investigate a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound (s). Medical personnel responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital, where the victim was pronounced deceased.

Investigators from the OPD Homicide Section responded to the scene to take over the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification to next of kin.
