Just before 1:00 AM on February 8, 2024, the Absecon Police Department responded to a call at the Oyster Bay Condominium Complex regarding a male wearing a ski mask attempting to break into a vehicle. As officers were en route, additional reports surfaced describing the same suspect attempting to force entry into a dwelling within the complex.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers successfully located a subject matching the description provided by witnesses. The suspect attempted to evade law enforcement by fleeing on foot. After a brief chase, the suspect was apprehended without further incident.

The apprehended individual has been identified as Michael A. Davis, a 39-year-old resident of Absecon. Notably, Davis has a prior record, having been arrested in connection with a residential burglary at the Clayton Mill Run Apartment Complex in July 2022, following a foot pursuit with law enforcement officers.

CHARGES: Criminal Attempt Burglary, Obstruction, and related drug offenses.

Following his arrest, Davis was lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
