SUMMARY: Over the past several weeks, Yucaipa Station deputies investigated an identity theft case, two separate fraudulent check cases, a stolen vehicle case, and illegal narcotic sale cases related to a residence on Tourmaline Avenue in the unincorporated area of Mentone.
During the investigation, deputies obtained a search warrant for the residence related to the numerous cases.
On February 7, 2024, deputies from the Yucaipa Sheriff's Station served the search warrant at the residence and located forged checks, personal identifying information belonging to possible victims, tear gas/pepper spray, and illegal narcotics.
Sixteen people were contacted at the residence and 10 were arrested at the scene. Another person was arrested later the same day. All the subjects were booked at the Central Detention Center in San Bernardino.
