Wilmington Police have arrested an Elsmere man for Home Improvement Fraud.
On October 31, 2023, Wilmington Police responded to the 1300 block of Cedar Street, in reference to a report of home improvement fraud. The case was assigned to Detective Michael Hayman of the Criminal Investigations Division. Through the course of his investigation, Detective Hayman discovered that 29-year-old Jonathan Lebron of Elsmere, owner of Lebron Construction, LLC, had previously agreed to complete a renovation on the victim’s house in July of 2023. The construction was supposed to be completed by October of 2023, and the victim paid Lebron just over $34,000 to do the work but it was not completed, the contract was not fulfilled, and the victim’s money was never reimbursed.
On February 5, 2024, Lebron was taken into custody without incident and has been charged with the following offenses:
- Home Improvement Fraud Untrue Statement of Material/Facts Over $1,500
- Home Improvement Fraud by False Pretense Over $1,500
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 20 and was released on $2,000 unsecured bail.
