Winter Weather Advisory from Monroe Twp. OEM
The Monroe Township Office of Emergency Management continues to monitor the winter storm which is expected to arrive in our area later this evening and continue into Tuesday according to weather forecasters. The current predicted snow accumulation for our area is 3-5”.
At this time it appears that this storm will start with rain late this evening and turn to snow and ice by tomorrow morning. Please do not park your vehicles on the roadways so that our Township DPW snowplows can properly clear the roads of snow and salt them.
Please avoid any unnecessary travel and allow extra travel time for your Tuesday morning commute. Report all power outages directly to JCP&L at 1-888-LIGHTSS
In case of any emergency, please dial 911!
Safety Tips:
- Please drive cautiously and adjust your speed for the changing road conditions.
- Remember to remove all snow and ice from your vehicle before driving, especially from the hood, windows and roof; It is the law in New Jersey.
- Always assume that all downed power lines are live!
