Advisory

Message from Mayor Jimenez pertaining to Overnight Electronic Parking Program enforcement starting tonight.

A message pertining to the Resident Parking Program from Mayor Jimenez,

All Ridgefield Residents,

Good evening!

I hope this message finds you well.  As many of you know, the Borough of Ridgefield has had a Resident Parking Program for approximately the last 10 years.  Over the last three years, the parking program has been suspended due to world events and an outdated parking program application process.  The Borough invested significant finances and effort to implement an Electronic Parking Enforcement Program which included installing Automatic License Plate Readers on police vehicles.  All new Permit Parking signs were replaced several months ago with the updated hours posted.  Over the last two months, after a lengthy research and testing period, the Police Department has issued warning notices to many vehicles parked on municipal streets and lots.  It is estimate that over 2000 warnings were distributed as the Police Department’s Officers covered the Borough twice testing the program.  Recently, light enforcement has occurred on the edges of the Borough in an effort to reduce congestion.

Please use this announcement as the final notice that the Police Department will begin issuing summonses to any vehicles parked along municipal streets and in municipal lots, between of hours of 1 AM to 10 AM, on Wednesday night into Thursday, February 14th.  To avoid possible summonses, please park any vehicles not listed in the parking program in private driveways.  To register vehicles for Resident Parking, Non-Resident Business Parking, Board of Education Employees and Borough Employees, please visit ridgefieldnj.gov for a link to the Passport Portal or contact the Police Department's Records Bureau for details.  Visitor passes can be purchased on the Passport Portal website by residents with active resident parking permits.  Thank you for your anticipated cooperation.
