Teton_WY Alerts member portal now open

¡Hola suscriptores españoles de Nixle! Consulte el archivo adjunto del correo electrónico para obtener instrucciones sobre cómo registrarse en el nuevo Teton_WY Alertas.

Hello Teton_WY Nixle Subscribers,

My name is Rich Ochs, Coordinator for Teton County WY Emergency Management. We are in charge of maintaining several pieces of the public alert and warning system for Teton County and the Town of Jackson. On October 23, 2023, we sent a message to Nixle subscribers about our pending transition to a new mass notification system called Everbridge. We are happy to announce that the registration portal is now open.

Today we are asking you to register for Teton_WY Alerts powered by Everbridge, our new and improved subscription alert service. This system will replace Nixle. Don't worry, it's still free, and now it's totally customizable! Teton_WY Alerts is a more powerful tool that will improve emergency alerting in our county. We think you'll come to appreciate the added features, flexibility, and control you will have when you sign up. To get registered, check out the attached flyer or follow the steps below:

  1. Go to tcincident.org and click the sign-up link at the top of the page. Fill in the information fields to create your account.
    1. Choose your own username and set your own password. Be sure to save this information somewhere secure! You can return to the member portal to edit your information and preferences at any time.
    2. For location, enter a physical address in Teton County such as your house, work, or another place you spend time.
      1. Location name is simply a label for you to remember which address you put in.
      2. You may input multiple locations if you wish, but all locations must be within Teton County, WY (that is our allowed alerting area).
    3. When choosing your alert subscriptions, you will be automatically enrolled in the highest-level alerts (e.g. evacuation notices, other life safety measures). You can choose to additionally subscribe to advisory, community, public health, weather alert, and system testing messages.
  1. Once you complete your Everbridge registration, you can unsubscribe from Nixle so that you will not get duplicate messages moving forward. To do that, text the word STOP to 888777.
    1. You may get a reply that says you have multiple Nixle subscriptions. Either choose to unsubscribe from the "Teton_WY" feed or reply with STOP ALL. Note this will unsubscribe you from all of your Nixle subscriptions, so if you are subscribed to Nixle in other areas of the country you may not want to STOP ALL.
  2. For your mobile device, it's handy to download the Public Safety by Everbridge app. Log in with the username and password you created when you registered online. It's just one more way that you will be able to receive alerts, edit your account information, and see a list of past notifications.

Change is difficult and nothing ever goes as planned, so if you have issues, please email us at [email protected] and we'll do our best to help you out. Thanks for registering and helping to make Teton County a more disaster-resilient community!
