At 1245 AM EST, a band of heavy snow was located along a line extending from central and northern Berks County eastward into portions of the Lehigh Valley, upper Bucks County, Hunterdon, and Somerset Counties. Movement was northeast at 25 mph. Snowfall rates of one to two inches per hour are possible within this band of heavy snow. Locations impacted include... Allentown, Reading, New Brunswick, Easton, Somerville, Somerset, Bethlehem, Bridgewater, Middlesex, Princeton, Emmaus, Wyomissing, Bound Brook, Manville, Quakertown, Perkasie, Byram, Wilson, Bedminster, and Hellertown. This includes the following highways... Northeast Extension between mile markers 38 and 61. Interstate 78 in Pennsylvania near mile marker 8, and between mile markers 10 and 76. Interstate 78 in New Jersey between mile markers 0 and 41. Interstate 287 in New Jersey between mile markers 10 and 29. Visibilities will drop quickly to less than a quarter of a mile in this area of heavy snow. A winter weather advisory is in effect for the area.
