Winter Weather Advisory
**Important Update from the #Haledon Office of Emergency Management**
On behalf of Mayor Michael Johnson and Haledon's Emergency Management Coordinator Carlos Aymat, the National Weather Service has announced a Winter Weather Advisory in effect on Saturday, February 17, 2024, until 10:00 AM due to anticipated moderate snow conditions.
A friendly reminder to residents: It is mandatory to promptly clear all snow, including sidewalks and vehicles, within 24 hours following the snowfall. Throwing snow into roadways or using objects to reserve parking spots is strictly prohibited and could result in a summons being issued. Remember, leaving animals outdoors in cold weather is considered animal cruelty and may lead to criminal charges. Ensure that pets have sufficient shelter and warmth during this time. Additionally, please keep fire hydrants free from snow buildup. If feasible, park vehicles in driveways to aid the Haledon Department of Public Works in efficient snow removal operations.
We encourage everyone to drive cautiously and at reduced speeds when commuting.
Please note that all New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission Offices will remain closed today.
Thank you for your understanding, and prioritize safety during this period.
