Full Notification

On 2/17/2024, at approximately 1932 hours, deputies from the Kern County Sheriff's Office, Lamont Substation and Metropolitan Patrol, were dispatched to the 10300 block of Tatum Street in Lamont, for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, deputies located two adult males suffering gunshot wounds and were unresponsive. One victim was pronounced deceased at the scene and the other was transported to a local hospital, via ambulance and was later pronounced deceased. The Kern County Sheriff's Office Homicide Unit was called to investigate. The identities of the males will be released at a later time, pending notification of next of kin.
