Sponsored by: Shorewood Hills Bird City
(with refreshments provided by Garden Club and Parks Committee)
ALL ARE WELCOME!
Did you know the population of many songbirds has decreased thirty percent or more since 1970?  Songbirds are in trouble in Wisconsin and across North America.  Warblers, finches and sparrows have suffered some of the biggest population losses since 1970!
Save our Songbirds - "SOS" (https://www.sossaveoursongbirds.org) was launched in March 2023 to raise awareness of birds’ dire situation and spur action at home.
Lisa Gaumnitz, coordinator of Save Our Songbirds (SOS) will help us understand these declines and share with us what we can do to Save Our Songbirds!
Lisa will join us to celebrate the Village of Shorewood Hills’ World Migratory Bird Day on Wednesday, February 28, with refreshments at 6:30 pm and the presentation  at 7:00 pm.  Lisa Gaumnitz worked for the Department of Natural Resources before becoming coordinator of SOS last year.
The Village of Shorewood Hills has been a Bird City since 2012.  This is the Village’s eleventh celebration of World Migratory Bird Day (this day has been celebrated in North America since 1993).
Bring friends and neighbors to this special presentation.
Refreshments will be provided by the Garden Club and Parks Committee.
