INCIDENT: Drive-By Shooting / Penal Code 246: Discharge a Firearm at an Inhabited Dwelling

SUMMARY: On Sunday, February 18, 2024, at approximately 9:56 p.m., deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, Morongo Basin Station, were dispatched to the 57000 block of El Dorado Drive in Yucca Valley. Numerous callers reported the sound of gunfire in the area. When deputies arrived, they located several spent fired cartridge casings in the roadway near a dirt embankment on El Dorado Drive. During the investigation, deputies also conducted multiple welfare checks to residences in the area to ensure the safety of those within proximity of the shooting. Fortunately, no one was injured as a result of this incident.
The investigation into this shooting is ongoing and being conducted by the Morongo Basin Station Detective Bureau.
