Add at least 30 minutes to travel SR 305 Agate Pass Bridge for daytime work Feb. 20-23

Travelers are reminded to plan for four days of significant daytime congestion approaching the State Route 305 Agate Pass Bridge Feb. 20-23.

Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) crews will reduce the span to one-way alternating traffic during daytime hours for annual bridge maintenance.

Work schedule

  • 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20, through Friday, Feb. 23
What to expect
  • Single-lane alternating traffic on the bridge.
  • At least 30 minutes of additional travel time in each direction.
  • Law enforcement officers will direct traffic at the intersection of SR 305 and Suquamish Way Northeast.
WSDOT needs help from travelers
  • Add extra travel time to help prevent delays especially for those traveling to the Bainbridge Island Ferry Terminal.
  • Consider postponing discretionary trips.
  • Travel early in the morning or later in the afternoon.
Crews use a special truck with a large mechanical arm to reach through, over and under the bridge. This specialized equipment can only be used during daylight hours.
Annual bridge cleaning helps keep the span in good working order.
More information about how the bridge is cleaned and maintained is available on the WSDOT website.
Before heading out the door, travelers can find the latest information on the WSDOT app and the WSDOT statewide travel map.
