INCIDENT:  2024-62  Shoplifting
 
DATE & TIME OCCURRED:  01/01/24 at 6:12 PM
 
LOCATION OCCURRED:  Dick’s Sporting Goods, 530 Nassau Park Blvd.

Arrested: Alisha R. Smith
                Resident of Toms River, NJ
 
DETAILS: Ptl. Connell was at the Dick’s Sporting Goods store to investigate a shoplifting that had occurred earlier in the day. While Ptl. Connell was speaking with the store Manager, the inventory alarm system activated at the exit doors. Employees shouted that someone had just shoplifted and started pointing at Alisha Smith. Smith ignored the alarm and continued walking out of the store and into the parking lot. Ptl. Connell ordered Smith to stop, but she also ignored him and kept walking away. After he caught up to Smith, she decided to comply. Inside the large purse she was carrying was $363.00 worth of clothing. Smith was processed at WWPD and released pending a future date in Court.

Accused: Kwesi M. Felician
                Resident of Trenton, NJ 08629
 
DETAILS:  Ptl. Cherko was detailed to the At Home store for a shoplifting. Investigation found that a male and a female entered the store, selected a large piece of artwork valued at $200, and carried it out to their car without paying. They had trouble fitting the artwork into their car and had to put it on the roof of their car. While they were doing this, an employee copied down the car’s license plate number before it drove away. Through follow-up investigation, Ptl. Cherko was able to identify Kwesi Felician as one of the offenders and charged her with shoplifting.

Arrested: Christopher J. Cambo-Analuisa
                Resident of Plainfield, NJ
 
DETAILS:  Ptl. Fiore was detailed to the Burlington store for a shoplifting. Investigation determined that two males and a female entered the store together. One of the males stuffed a blue duffel bag full of clothing and attempted to leave the store. When he was confronted, he turned over the bag, and left the store. Around this same time, the male and female were walking around the store together stuffing another duffel bag with $608.88 worth of clothing. Likely panicked by what had just happened to their fellow shoplifter, the duo abandoned their duffel bag at the back of the store and left. A short while later, one of the shoplifters, Christopher Cambo-Analuisa, returned to the store after realizing his car keys were left in one of the duffel bags. While waiting for his keys to be returned to him, officers arrived and arrested him. He gave officers a fake name, but his fingerprints revealed his true identity. Cambo-Analuisa was processed at WWPD and released pending a future date in Court.

DETAILS:  While the residents of a home in the Estates at Princeton Junction development were on vacation, burglars entered their house by manipulating a rear sliding patio door to get it open. The master bedroom was ransacked and jewelry, watches, and other valuables were stolen from inside.

Arrested: Vanessa P. Aiello
                Resident of Clinton, NJ 08809

DETAILS:  Patrol Units were detailed to the Lowes store for a shoplifter who was being detained by store employees. Investigation found that Vanessa Aiello had loaded a shopping cart with power tools valued at $1,015.27. Aiello then attempted to push the cart out of the store without paying when she was stopped. Aiello was also found to be in possession of heroin and hypodermic needles. Aiello was processed at WWPD and released pending a future date in Court.

LOCATION OCCURRED:  TJ Maxx Parking Lot, 210 Nassau Park Blvd.

Accused: Gerald W. Brown, Jr.
                Resident of Hamilton, NJ 08609
 
REPORTING OFFICER:  Sgt. C. Van Ness #486                  
 
DETAILS:  While Sgt. Van Ness was writing a ticket to a Nissan SUV for parking in a handicapped space without a permit, he noticed a male lurking around the front of TJ Maxx using his cell phone. A short time later, police dispatch advised that there was a report of a fight in the parking lot of the Target. Sgt. Van Ness responded to the call immediately, but found no signs of a fight. When he returned to the parking lot of TJ Maxx, both the Nissan SUV and the suspicious male were gone. Investigation found that Gerald Brown, Jr. was using the Nissan SUV at the time of this incident, that he was the male Sgt. Van Ness saw using the phone outside of TJ Maxx, and that it was his phone number that called 9-1-1. Brown, Jr. was also determined to have a warrant for his arrest and had a suspended driver’s license. Brown Jr. was charged with making a false report and related offenses, and has a future date court date pending.

DETAILS:  While on patrol, Ptl. Fattibene’s attention was drawn to a black Buick SUV driving without its lights on in the dark. He then observed the SUV signal a left turn, but instead of turning, it kept going straight. The SUV then caught up to a vehicle that was in front of it and followed it very closely, repeatedly accelerating and braking behind it. Ptl. Fattibene stopped the vehicle and determined that the driver, Zane Clark, Jr. was DWI. Clark, Jr. was processed at WWPD and released pending future dates at West Windsor Municipal Court.

                Resident of Edison, NJ 08817
 
DETAILS:  Ptl. Fattibene was detailed to Barnes & Noble for a shoplifting. Investigation found that a male had selected two Lego sets (Valued at $349.98), put them into a black garbage bag, then walked out of the store without paying, setting off the inventory control alarm system. Ptl. Fattibene’s investigation identified the male as Frank Peterson, and he was charged with shoplifting.
