Search Warrant Leads to Recovery of over $160,000 Worth of Batteries Stolen from Cell Tower Sites

LOCATION: Union Battery Disposal, 5312 W. Mission Blvd. in Ontario
SUMMARY:On Tuesday, February 20, 2024, approximately 7:45 a.m., deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Rural Crimes Division, and detectives from the Victor Valley Station, served a search warrant at Union Battery Disposal, 5312 W. Mission Blvd., in the county area of Ontario.
The search warrant, authored by Deputies J. Francis and L. Torres, gave detectives and deputies the authority to look for batteries stolen from numerous AT&T remote sites throughout Southern California. During the search warrant, over 275 stolen batteries were located. Total value is estimated at $167,000.00.
