Crime Blotter for the Week of February 11, 2024 – February 17, 2024

The following is a synopsis of crimes reported for the week of February 11, 2024 – February 17, 2024.        

February 11, 2024

  • Burglary (Commercial):
1413 Huntington Drive (Crumbl Cookies). On February 11, 2024 at 2:21 AM, suspect unknown, a male black adult wearing a blue hoodie, and black pants carrying a tool bag, pried open the lock box containing a key to the front door and entered the business. The suspect is seen on surveillance video entering and exiting the location and taking money from the register and safe. The loss was approximately $500.
 
  • Burglary (Commercial):
1100 Huntington Drive (It’s Boba Time). On February 11, 2024 at 2:33 AM, suspect unknown, a male black adult wearing a blue hoodie, and black pants carrying a gray backpack, shattered the front window to the location and entered the business. The suspect is seen on surveillance video entering and exiting the location and attempting to force open a safe with multiple tools. The suspect suddenly runs out of the location through the rear door leaving behind a long pry bar. There was no loss.
 
February 12, 2024
  • Burglary (Commercial):
1420 Mountain Avenue (Best Buy). On February 12, 2024 at 3:33 AM, suspects unknown, two male adults wearing all black clothing, entered the location by cutting a hole through the exit door. The suspects ransacked the location and stole multiple miscellaneous items. The loss was approximately $10,000. Surveillance video is available.

February 14, 2024
  • Burglary (Vehicle):
1195 Huntington Drive (Planet Fitness). On February 14, 2024 between 7:30 PM and 8:42 PM, suspect(s) unknown shattered the rear driver’s side windows to the victim’s locked vehicle, a 2024 white Mazda CX-30, that was parked at the location. The suspect(s) entered the vehicle and stole the victim’s MacBook, iPad, and backpack that was in plain view. The value of the stolen property was approximately $5,850. No surveillance video is available.
 
February 15, 2024
  • Burglary (Vehicle):
2600 Block of Hacienda Drive. On February 15, 2024 between 4:30 PM and 4:40 PM, suspect(s) unknown shattered the driver’s side windows to the victim’s locked vehicle, a 2015 white Mercedez Benz GLK350, that was parked at the location. The suspect(s) entered the vehicle and stole the victim’s purse that was in plain view. The value of the stolen property was approximately $515. No surveillance video is available.
 
February 16, 2024
  • Grand Theft:
2300 Block of Rim Road. Between February 15, 2024 9:30 AM and February 16, 2024 4:40 PM, suspect(s) unknown entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle, a 2014 white Honda CRV, that was parked at the location. The suspect(s) stole the victim’s “Channel” wallet that was in plain view. The value of the stolen property was approximately $1,030. No surveillance video is available.
 
  • Grand Theft Vehicle:
1600 Block of Cotter Avenue. Between February 15, 2024 8 PM and February 16, 2024 4:40 PM, suspect(s) unknown stole the victim's parked vehicle, a silver 2006 Honda Accord. No surveillance video is available.

CRIME PREVENTION TIPS FOR SENIORS - WALKING
  • If you are a victim of a crime during your walk, make as much noise as possible by calling for help or blowing a whistle. Do not pursue your attacker. Call 911 and report the crime as soon as possible.
  • Avoid walking alone at night. Try to have a companion accompany you in a high-risk area, even during the daytime.
  • Always plan your route and stay alert to your surroundings. Walk confidently.
  • Walk in well-lighted areas.
  • Have your key ready when approaching your front door.
  • Carry only what you need during your walks, don’t carry large, bulky shoulder bags or a purse. Make sure to carry a cellphone.
