Wilmington Police have arrested a man on gun and drug charges.
On February 10, at approximately 5:36 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 1400 block of Maryland Avenue, in reference to a trespassing complaint. Upon arrival, police made contact with 48-year-old Joseph McDaniel who was taken into custody without incident, and found to be in possession of a loaded 9mm handgun, and .287 grams of heroin.
McDaniel has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited – Three Counts
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
- Possession of a Controlled Substance
He was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $50,000 cash-only bail.
